COMMITTEES
Parent involvement is a vital aspect of Heartland. It is a way for families to share their time and talent to benefit the education of their children and the school. It keeps our costs down and builds strong connections within our parent community. One adult member of each family is required to serve on at least one of our four committees, and each family commits to sharing 40 volunteer hours each school year in some capacity.
MARKETING |
|
The Marketing Committee coordinates and assists in representing Heartland Montessori School at community events, works with staff promoting Heartland internally through parent education, and promoting the school externally through our Web site and social media. The committee develops advertising and promotional fliers and brochures, and assists in developing materials to promote Heartland’s events. The Marketing Committee takes direction from the Board of Directors and meets throughout the year as needed. Heartland staff and volunteers may be available to speak to your company or service organization about our school or about Montessori education in general. Please contact us if you're interested in learning more.
BUILDINGS & GROUNDS |
|
The Building and Grounds Committee provides general maintenance to the exterior and interior of the school buildings along with care of the grounds. Maintenance and repair needs may include painting, mowing, deep cleaning, gardening, landscaping, and construction. This committee also coordinates the work to be done for the Fall & Spring Clean Up Weekends. The Buildings and Grounds Committee works closely with staff to ensure safety and beauty of our school.
FUNDRAISING |
|
The Fundraising Committee plans, coordinates, and executes the major fundraisers for the school. They also coordinate on-going fundraising efforts, such as Boxtops for Education, and assist with grant writing. This committee takes direction from the Board of Directors and meets throughout the year as needed.
