Join us and see for yourself what
Montessori education is all about!

This summer we will learn the lifestyle of the North American pioneer. We will make authentic recipes and homemade toys that young children of the early settlers enjoyed. As the pioneers did not have convenience foods, will spend time tending to the chickens and working in the gardens, weeding, watering and gathering to make snacks.

Come for a single week, or any combination of weeks--whatever is best for your family's summer schedule.

The cost for our summer program is $125 per week.

Week 1: July 9-13 Cook as a Pioneer
What ingredients were available to the pioneers? How did they cook their food? As we gther and use fresh eggs and our homemade butter, we will discover how they prepared their meals as we make pioneer recipes. We will taste trail beans, cornmeal mush, apple candy, Johnnycakes, breakfast rice, Pioneer Hardtack and more!

Week 2: July 16-20 Work and Play as a Pioneer
Even the chldren had household chores such as gathering eggs, feeding animals, and weeding the garden. Did they have time to play? After tending to the gardens and caring for our animals, we will be making some of the toys that were used by the pioneer children. Homemade clay marbles, whimmydiddles and buzzsaws are just a few!

Children age 2.9 through age 6 may enroll.
